WWE News: Bayley To Miss Summerslam, New Plans For Women’s Championship

It was quite hard for the Bayley fans to hear about her injury on this past week. She was scheduled to compete in the Raw Women’s Championship match after becoming the new number one contender by beating Sasha Banks on Raw, two weeks ago. This was a golden opportunity to settle her scores with the reigning champion, Alexa Bliss.

However, luck did not favor her and she got injured during her match up against Nia Jax. Her shoulder is said to be separated due to some nasty bumps in the match. In this condition, she will have to be out from in-ring competitions for at least, six weeks.

Now, WWE has not officially ruled her out of the Summerslam PPV, till date. Rather, they wanted the doctors to keep her under observation and then come to a conclusion regarding the matter. We are not sure to learn about it until we get to the next episode of WWE Raw. The company will hold the announcement in order to pull up some ratings with fans remaining curious to know Bayley’s future.

However, The Dirty Sheets has already confirmed that there’s no way that The Hugger is making it to the biggest event of the summer causing the scheduled title match to be altered. Bayley will lose the opportunity to make her Summerslam debut in a marquee match on that evening. So, someone from the Raw roster will be replacing her at the event.

The backup plans are said to be already planned by the creative team. Sasha Banks will be the most probable replacement for Bayley. So, she will challenge the champion for the title in a single match. To earn this opportunity, she will have to square off against Nia Jax that would possibly take place on Raw. The Boss will come up victorious gaining the upper hand and claim a rematch against Bliss.

The injury might favor Bayley in every possible way since the audience was not backing her up for the last couple of months. They were favoring Sasha to win the contest. Being absent on the flagship show might generate more sympathy for her which will help her following her return so that she can go straight into the title picture, again.
