WWE News: Carmella Issued a Challenge to Ronda Rousey

Carmella is the current Smackdown women’s champion. The initial thought was that WWE handed the championship to this lady for a short span.
But then she proved all of us to be wrong. There’s no doubt that WWE made her one of the strongest champions on the roster in recent times.
Just think a bit of what she had done lately. Charlotte Flair was on top of the world following Wrestlemania. She pulled an end to the streak of Asuka out of nowhere. It made her the strongest female superstar in the entire WWE. But the very next night Carmella dethroned her from the title reign.
That was not it. Just a few weeks later, Carmella defeated Charlotte Flair yet again at Backlash. The fact that the win via a clean pin proves how dominant the champ has been in the title reign. Asuka was next in line for the championship. In fact, the GM shocked her by announcing Asuka as the next contender.
But then again the Carmella defeated the former NXT women’s champion in their first meeting. James Ellsworth was back in her corner helping to win the match. His presence has given a huge boost in confidence for the title-holder. She’s been on a mission to build the ‘Mella is Money’ brand.
Now that Carmella has beaten Charlotte and Asuka successfully, the next choice for her is quite apparent. These two are the benchmark performers of the company followed by the one and only Ronda Rousey. So the ‘princess of Staten Island’ has dared to lay down a challenge to her.
We informed you earlier about Carmella on tour to Australia. She promoted the upcoming Super-show-down at the MCG on October 6th. In one of those interview sessions, Ronda Rousey received a straight-up threat from the Smackdown women’s champion. But the match is not possible at this time due to the brand split.

Currently, Carmella will have to face Asuka in a rematch at Extreme Rules. Paige has granted another opportunity to the Empress of Tomorrow after Ellsworth caused her in the title match at MITB.
Ronda Rousey, on the other hand, is targeting Alexa Bliss. She is currently serving a 30-day suspension from the WWE for attacking the officials.
