WWE News: Daniel Bryan To Change Wrestlemania Match On Smackdown
Mar 20, 2018 at 1:17 PM
On the last episode of Smackdown Live, we had received another match for Wrestlemania. It is going to be the two of the best friends renewing their rivalry at the grandest stage of them all. Kevin Owens will take on his nemesis, Sami Zayn in a singles competition. An announcement from Shane McMahon confirmed it.
At the Fastlane PPV, both of them cost each other, the title opportunity by turning their back on each other. Meanwhile, Owens delivered a superkick to Shane McMahon to reignite another feud with him. These two has previously featured in a Hell in a Cell match. The Prize-fighter has also assaulted Vince McMahon, at one point.
So, Shane-O-Mac wanted to punish Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn so that they can take the frustrations out on each other. There was no better way to book these two in a match at the biggest event of the year. These two were meant to continue their feud around all the wrestling promotions that they have been a part of.
However, this announcement was not taken well by them, and Shane McMahon felt the wrath of them. A massive assault was delivered which would not allow him to be present on the show in the upcoming weeks. This is the reason why Daniel Bryan will be in sole charge of the show. After two weeks of hiatus, he will be back, this week.
Now, according to the reports of cagesideseats.com, the singles match will no more remain in that way. Rather, Shane McMahon will be involved in the match. This will allow the Smackdown commissioner to get involved in the biggest event of the year in certain capacity which is still not clear.
“It was originally thought that Zayn and Owens would go 1-on-1 at WrestleMania, rekindling their age-old rivalry, but after last week’s SD Live, it looks like the Prodigal Son will be involved in the match-up as well. It is not yet clear, though, whether the match will be a triple threat bout or a tag team match.”
Furthermore, none other than Daniel Bryan will be the special guest referee of the match at Wrestlemania. This is going to be quite an interesting planning since the popular babyface will also not have to sit out of the PPV event that is set to happen on April 8th. We are likely to learn more about this situation when Smackdown comes up with its next edition.
