WWE News: Daniel Bryan vs Big Cass Announced for MITB PPV
Jun 5, 2018 at 2:02 PM
Daniel Bryan could not qualify for the MITB ladder match. It was last week when the final qualifier took place for the men’s division matchup.
Samoa Joe and Big Cass were the other two superstars in the past match. The crowd backed up the former GM of Smackdown quite expectedly.
The initial momentums were with Daniel Bryan too. It hinted he was going to enter the MITB ladder match hitting a running knee on Cass. But he forgot about the third participant in the match. It allowed Samoa Joe to come from behind and lock in the Coquina Clutch on him.
This gave him the won via submission. Daniel Bryan emotionally closed the show. It was another opportunity lost by him for the annual PPV event. Rusev defeated him in another qualifier before this. The WWE Universe was in doubt whether we’d see him at the upcoming PPV event or not.
We can now assure you that it is happening. Daniel Bryan will compete in a singles match on June 17th. It will be a rematch from the Backlash PPV event.
He will take on his current rival Big Cass in a one-on-one capacity. There’s no additional capacity attached to this matchup for now.
WWE.com confirmed the contest with the following quotes,
“Daniel Bryan will get a chance at payback when he faces Big Cass at WWE Money in the Bank on Sunday, June 17, streaming live on WWE Network. Cass’ attack has Bryan seething and itching to get retribution. Will Bryan get the payback he’s looking for? Find out at WWE Money in the Bank, streaming live on WWE Network Sunday, June 17, at 7 ET/4 PT!”
It was a much-anticipated rematch between these two bitter rivals. The feud came to a sudden halt after Big Cass got injured for a week. But it came back to track after he returned to in-ring competition last week.
In fact, he closed the show delivering a big boot to Daniel Bryan. This move set up this PPV matchup on June 17th. Big Cass lost the first instalment of this matchup at the Backlash PPV. Now, it should be his turn to level the score with the leader of the YES nation.
So the big man is the favourite to win the MITB contest. It would arrange a rubber match at Extreme Rules with an added stipulation.
