WWE News: Goldberg Announced as 2018 Hall of Fame Inductee 1

It’s a tradition of the WWE that each year just before the Wrestlemania event, a Hall of Fame ceremony gets hosted to honour some of the former pro-wrestling legends who served the company and made a name for themselves, as well. The club comprising these stars is often considered to be the most prestigious club in all of sports entertainment.

Last night, the company announced who is going to be the headliner of the event, this year. The rumours of the potential headliner were there on the social media for quite sometimes. Making it true, the company officially announced that Goldberg is the class of 2018 Hall of Fame inductee.

Later this year, he will be honoured by getting inducted into this elite club of the WWE by another pro-wrestling legend. Two days before Wrestlemania 34, the former WWE Universal Champion will receive the Hall of Fame title. On April 6, the ceremony will be held at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

“What’s next for Goldberg? The WWE Hall of Fame.
As first reported by ESPN, Goldberg is the first inductee in the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2018 and will take his place in sports-entertainment history on Friday, April 6, during WrestleMania 34 week in New Orleans.

While there probably won’t be any Jackhammers during Goldberg’s induction into the WWE Hall of Fame, it is sure to be an emotional evening, as one of sports entertainment’s greatest Superstars takes his place in history.”

Goldberg arrived in the pro-wrestling industry as a reckless force who was undefeated for straight 173 matches which is still a record held by a male wrestler. Back then, he used to be the franchise player of the WCW promotion which was later taken over by Vince McMahon’s WWE.

Later, McMahon finally brought him to the biggest pro-wrestling promotion of the world, the night after Wrestlemania 19. Going forward, he became the world champion in the company. However, he was said to be having an ego problem with many of the superstars owing to which he had to leave the WWE in 2004.

12 years later in 2016, Goldberg made his return to the WWE which was literally unthinkable. After destroying Brock Lesnar, he picked up the Universal title from Kevin Owens to have one more title run that ended at last year’s Wrestlemania. With his name being announced for Hall of Fame, we will see a perfect end to a legendary career.
