John Cena made his return last week on Smackdown Live to claim a championship match at No Mercy PPV. So, Smackdown commissioner, Shane McMahon announced that we will witness a triple threat match for the WWE World Championship featuring Cena, Styles, and Ambrose.
This will be after the year 2015 that John Cena will be main eventing in a PPV. Last time it was in the 2015 Royal Rumble event when he featured in a championship match. He stepped aside from the title picture to give a chance to the next generation. Now, that he is back on the main event scene, he is all set to break a record at No Mercy PPV.
The franchise of the WWE will be seen in a PPV’s main event for a record 68th time in his career. Till now, the record has been shared with him alongside Undertaker and Triple H. Cena started on the main event picture against JBL in the year 2005 defeating him for the WWE title at Wrestlemania 21. Since then he has the WWE and World title for 15 times.
