WWE News: New Favorite for WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2018

As per the earlier reports from Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Batista was the favourite one to headlining this year’s WWE Hall of Fame ceremony. Every year, the night before Wrestlemania PPV, the company hosts an event to give honour to the wrestling legends. This year, Kurt Angle was the prime face of the event, and we expected the Animal to be on that spot, next year.

According to the new source, The Dirty Sheets, there’s no way that Dave Bautista can be headlining the show from New Orleans. Rather, there’s a new favourite for the event in the form of a franchise player of WCW.

As per the source, WWE has made the initial pool for the 30 superstars to get inducted on that night to be hosted on April 6th, next year. Batista does not feature into that. Instead, the likes of Daniel Bryan, Goldberg and The Undertaker are the favourites to headline the event.

Considering that Goldberg was primarily considered for the same spot, last year before his one-off in-ring stint with the WWE, he is the favourite to get inducted into the Hall of Fame as the headliner. Apart from that, there’s the Smackdown General Manager and the Deadman, if he’s been retired, legit. Check out the comments from the source, (courtesy SportsKeeda.com)

“Bryan was the clear front-runner with it being New Orleans, but with him being unlikely to stay (with WWE) after 2018 and with Goldberg’s induction being postponed last year, Goldberg has to be the favourite.

They’ve already shot loads of content with him, including a Network doccie (documentary). So as he’s already agreed and they don’t really want to be spending extra money right now, it’s highly likely it’ll be him. However, you definitely can’t rule out Taker, with his obvious links to New Orleans (where the streak ended).”

In a recent interview at the United Kingdom, Goldberg confirmed that he left the company on good terms after Wrestlemania 33. So, there’s always a chance to get back to the WWE, any day. However, considering his age, he might not be able to deliver inside the ring, anymore. So, this might be the suitable space for him. He will get the honour to join the most prestigious club present in the WWE.
