WWE News: Paige Officially Removed from Royal Rumble Match

Arindam Paul / 16 January 2018

As reported earlier, Paige was dealing with a neck injury ever since Sasha Banks ruined a move during the holiday week in the WWE.

In the last week of 2017, The Absolution comprising of Paige, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville had a match against the team of Bayley, Mickie James and Sasha Banks when this injury occurred.

Bank misfired a knee on Paige’s back that is said to be hit right in the place where the neck surgery took place, last year. In case you don’t know, the neck concussions troubling the anti-Divas of the WWE is not something new. She has been dealing it with since 2016 that forced her to undergo the knives, at one point.

It kept her away from the ring for almost one year before she came back onboard following the last edition of Survivor Series. By forming the dominant stable, Absolution, she had all the momentums by her side and was able to regain the lost place in the women’s division, all of a sudden. It has also made her one of the favourites to win the first-ever Royal Rumble match, as well.

However, it looked like that her dream run came to an end, really quick. The rumours were there that the neck injury is troubling her a lot which was otherwise thought to be a minor one. Last night, WWE confirmed that the youngest Divas Champion in the history of the WWE would not be able to perform in the history-making match. Check out the confirmations, here:

“As reported during tonight’s Monday Night Raw broadcast, Paige will not compete in this year’s historic 30-Woman Royal Rumble Match due to a neck injury. Paige will, however, be at the Royal Rumble event to support her Absolution allies, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville.
Stay with WWE.com as more information becomes available.”

It is certain that WWE is willing to undergo some more procedures with this matter before announcing something major with Paige’s career. It is being assumed that she might not get cleared, at all to compete ever in a WWE ring which will end her career. It is not a good news for a 25-year young superstar like her.
