Brock Lesnar won the Universal Championship at the biggest stage of them all, Wrestlemania by defeating his nemesis Goldberg. This was the 33rd edition of the Wrestlemania PPV in which he was able to bring back his lost legacy.
His status as the conqueror was in serious jeopardy after Goldberg squashed him in the match at Survivor Series. In addition, he was also manhandled during the Royal Rumble match, as well.
But, Heyman’s beast is unleashed on the company, once again.
As reported earlier, this is Lesnar’s last year in the company. So, a busy schedule is waiting for him in the upcoming season ahead. In general, he goes off the air after Wrestlemania and does not come back till the Summerslam season comes around.
But, this year, he has walked out of the grandest stage of them all with the title on his hand. So, it’s evident that he will be defending his title for at least in a couple of matches prior to August. It also meant he would have to work more dates in the company going in contrast of his light schedule from earlier.
But, a report from 434.com stated that Brock Lesnar will be kept off from WWE TV for the rest part of April. He will not defend his Universal title at the upcoming Raw-exclusive PPV, Payback. It will take place on April 30 at the SAP Center in San Jose, California.
The reason behind Lesnar not doing more appearances in this month is due to his contract. It only allows him to perform some some handful number of dates in the entire year.
If he is forced to do more other than his contract, then Vince McMahon has to sign some more paychecks with a heavy amount. So, the creative has already scrapped additional dates for him.
It is expected that the beast will return on Raw, next month to build up his first title defence. It should take place in June when the second Raw-exclusive PPV after Wrestlemania takes place. There is still some rumour stating whether it will be at the Extreme Rules or the returning Bad Blood PPV.
Quite expectedly, his opponent should be none other than Braun Strowman. In the past episode of Monday Night Raw, the mountain among men had a confrontation with Lesnar and his advocate Paul Heyman to indicate of a future feud between them. This one has been rumoured for a long time now and might come to fruition, this year.
