WWE News: Reason Why Lana Is Not Competing On Smackdown Live

Lana was included on the Smackdown roster as a solo performer during the beginning of summer 2017. Upon her debut, she made a huge impact on the roster by becoming the number one contender for the women’s championship. Perhaps, no other female wrestler got a solo debut championship match on the main roster as she did at the Money in the Bank PPV.

She could not capitalize on the opportunity but managed to involve in a full-fledged program with the then champion, Naomi on the show. This earned her the spotlight and fans also got to know how much she is capable of when it comes to in-ring competition.

It was years of hard work for the Ravishing Russian who started as a manager of Rusev. But, being an incredibly agile performer, she always had the dream to perform inside the ring. After a long wait, she finally received the shot in 2017. But, in case you have noticed, Lana was not seen wrestling on Smackdown Live, in recent times.

During a Twitter conversation with a fan, the Total Divas-star addressed this by revealing that exact reason as of why she is not seen competing. The creative team does not want her to compete on live TV, anymore. Hence, she has not been given a match on Smackdown, in recent times.

But, thankfully her wrestling stint is still intact with the house shows. Being the non-televised shows, Lana got to compete on the live shows on a regular basis. Going by her reaction on the social media, she might not be unhappy with this recent transformation.

But, once should constantly update herself to stay relevant to the Smackdown brand. Hence, she intends to go back to her managerial role from her beginning days. For now, Lana is managing Tamina by constantly wanting to put her in the championship picture.

Plus, the gorgeous one also posted a tweet towards the new additions on Smackdown from the NXT roster. Apparently, she is willing to be the manager for the trio, Ruby Riot, Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan. We will have to wait and see whether WWE intends to put her on the role in the future.
