The Superstar Shakeup process ended on this past episode of Smackdown Live starting from Raw, the night before. This is perhaps the two most exciting nights of the year where superstars exchange their existing brands to create a major alteration in the mix. Like always, a number of Raw superstars entered the Smackdown brand including champions and vice-versa. Even the NXT superstars were part of the entire process.

Speaking of the big drafts, Roman Reigns, Finn Balor, Bayley, Lars Sullivan are the biggest acquisitions of Smackdown Live brand. As for Raw is concerned, names like AJ Styles, Rey Mysterio, and The Miz were the biggest imports from the Smackdown brand. All of these three are former world champions those will be carrying the Monday Night Raw brand until the next edition of Wrestlemania happens in Florida.
However, WWE has additional reasons to bring back The Miz to the flagship brand of the company and it does not come from any storyline perspective. Rather, the promotional purpose is the sole reason why the Hollywood A-Lister has switched brand. It happened for three consecutive years proving him to be one of the most trusted shoulders of the company of all time.
Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer reported The Miz shifted brands to promote The Miz and Mrs. show. It airs on USA Network on every Tuesday Night. With the former champion moving on Raw, the show hosts will get the central character of the show for one more night to promote it. The show is dealing with low viewership and needs a boost-up on an emergency basis. Here’s what the source had to offer, (via wwfoldschool.com)
“One person in the company did suggest this to me. The reason The Miz is now on RAW is that that gives them an extra day to plug Miz & Mrs. which apparently the debut number was not good.
It was lower than I believe the lowest number from season one and that was the debut of season two and so I guess if Miz is on RAW then they got an extra day to promote Miz & Mrs. and I guess they figure that maybe that’ll help bring up the rating, so there you go.”
WWE launched The Miz and Mrs. in 2018 as a spin-off series of the Total Divas show just like the Bella Twins got their own show Total Bellas. With a high viewership in the first season, USA Network booked Miz and Maryse for the second season that started airing from this month onwards. It is a rare show that goes without a script unlike the E Network reality shows around WWE Superstars. Hopefully, The Miz moving to Raw helps the show to pull the ratings, upwards.
