WWE has finally disclosed the June schedule of pay-per-view events after a lot of speculations. They are not hosting the Backlash show as reported earlier and replaced it with a brand new event. It has a catchy name of Stomping Grounds itself that should attract the audience and help to build up the event in the near future. The host venue confirmed the show for now instead of any official announcement.

Hardy Boyz vacated tag team championships on Smackdown

The Tacoma Dome has announced that WWE will host a new WWE Network or pay-per-view special named WWE Stomping Grounds on Sunday, June 23rd from Tacoma, Washington. Tickets will be out for this show from Friday, May 3rd onwards at 10 AM Pacific. This is going to be the third exclusive event following Wrestlemania 35 that comes as the direct replacement of Backlash.

To hype up any of the shows, WWE needs big-time matchups and the strategy remains the same for Stomping Grounds. The host venue has locally started to advertise the main event match of the show that features none other than the poster boy himself. The host venue is now advertising Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton for this upcoming June show that’d take place from the Smackdown Live brand.

Here’s the released statement from Tacoma Dome,

“WWE Stomping Grounds Pay Per View announces the Tacoma Dome event with a chance for fans to see – ROMAN REIGNS VS. RANDY ORTON PLUS, UNIVERSAL CHAMPION SETH ROLLINS, AND THE NEW DAY’S WWE CHAMPION KOFI KINGSTON PLUS MANY MORE FAVORITE WWE SUPERSTARS Tickets start at $25 and go on sale Friday, May 3 at 10 am at the Heritage Bank Box Office at the Tacoma Dome and ticketmaster.com.”

This is the smartest way to book a PPV event for WWE where they get to keep the franchise player on the cover poster of the show. Although it is not a confirmed match, we expect Roman Reigns to stay in the main event match even if his opponent gets changed. On paper, this should be a good show which will witness all the top superstars from both Raw and Smackdown in action.

Previously, WWE scheduled Backlash from the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, California on June 16th. But the Saudi Arabia show will return on June 7th which does not have a name or theme, to date. But f4wonline.com confirmed that the show is indeed happening on June 7th. We are most likely to receive an official announcement when WWE Money in the Bank airs on May 19th.
