WWE News: Roman Reigns suspended from WWE for 30 days
Jun 22, 2016 at 10:44 AM
The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns has been suspended from WWE for 30 days due to violating the company’s talent wellness policy. Roman is one of the cornerstones of the company, as of now apart from the franchise player, John Cena. So, the suspension came as a huge surprise. WWE has been strict with the wellness violation policy for quite a sometimes and especially after the Chris Benoit unfortunate passing away case.
WWE let the suspension news know to the world by posting the following statement on its official website:
“WWE has suspended Joe Anoa`i (Roman Reigns) for 30 days effective immediately for his first violation of the company’s talent wellness policy.”
Roman Reigns tweeted the following addressing the same by saying, “I apologize to my family, friends and fans for my mistake in violating WWE’s wellness policy. No excuses. I own it.”

The talent wellness policy violation includes incidents like taking drugs without a doctor’s prescription or acting unprofessionally. Previously, the same reason has caused the suspension to superstars like Adam Rose, Titus O’Neil, The Ascension’s Konnor etc. As of now, the exact reason for Roman Reigns’ getting suspended is not clear. Though, his absence will cost WWE a lot and give a strong message to rest of the locker room, to say the least.
Roman Reigns has just lost his WWE World Heavyweight Championship at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view. The next night on Monday Night Raw he demanded his rematch from the new champion, Dean Ambrose. Shane McMahon set up a number one contender’s match for the championship between Reigns and Seth Rollins in which unfortunately both of them got counted out causing a double disqualification.
This, in turn, set up a huge triple threat match at WWE Battleground PPV. Now, Reigns getting suspended means the triple threat match is definitely in jeopardy. Though, many believe that the suspension is a part of the storyline so that the much-anticipated triple threat match among the former Shield members can take place at the summer’s biggest event.
