WWE News: The Miz to Team Up With Asuka in Mixed Match Challenge

Arindam Paul / 10 January 2018

The Miz has a more significant start to the year 2018 indeed after coming back to WWE Raw, this week.

He returned to the city of Memphis to steal the show with Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas by his side. As reported earlier, he made the intentions clear that Roman Reigns will be the target for him. He never got his opportunity due Intercontinental championship rematch and will not stop until regaining the title he made prestigious for the last couple of years.

Now, apart from the mainstay performance, The Miz will also be a performer in the Mixed Match Challenge contest of the WWE which will be kick-started on January 16th exclusively on Facebook Watch. It is going to be the first tournament conducted by a wrestling promotion that will take place on the social media platform in a live format.

In case you don’t know, a male superstar will team up with a female superstar to form a mixed tag team. The pair will take on another pair in the series. It is likely that the teams from WWE Raw will take on the teams from WWE Smackdown. Till date, some such pairs were announced.

The Miz has received his partner too after coming back, and it is going to be none other than Asuka. It will be quite a strong team with the self-proclaimed Hollywood A-lister teaming up with the undefeated woman in the WWE, as of now. The Empress of Tomorrow is more than enough to pull off the victory by herself unless The Miz decides to throw tantrums. Check out the confirmations from WWE.com,

“The team of The Miz and Asuka will represent Team Red in the WWE Mixed Match Challenge tournament, airing exclusively on Facebook Watch beginning next Tuesday. Upon learning that they would team together, the newly-formed tandem had a simple message for the WWE Universe, “we will win!”

Put simply, Miz’s tremendous experience, mixed with the skill of the undefeated Asuka, may prove to be an extremely effective combination. Together, Miz and Asuka will do battle in the ground-breaking tournament on Facebook Watch.”
