WWE Universe wondered what The Undertaker’s status would be following his absence at Wrestlemania 35. There were rumors whether his career has ended for good. But that’s not the case as the Deadman was back in his yard on WWE Raw after Wrestlemania which always remains a special episode filled up with global audience across the world.
Former world champion announces retirement after Wrestlemania 35
The inevitable return of The Undertaker happened in a segment featuring Elias. He was frustrated about John Cena interrupting his musical concert at Wrestlemania 35. So he was out with a follow-up segment on WWE Raw and wanted it to happen without any intervention. He warned anybody interrupting him would be a Deadman as the gong hit the arena.
The Undertaker appeared on WWE Raw for the first time since last October to confront Elias who decided to leave the ring. But then he came back and confronted him. A cheap shot followed next as he digested a big boot alongside a Chokeslam. The Undertaker then dropped Elias with a Tombstone Piledriver before posing over his body and end the segment.
We should note that The Undertaker looked better than ever in-ring shape. He lost a few pounds of weight signifying that it’s just a matter of time that he returns to in-ring action. Most probably it is happening at the Saudi Arabia show.
It’s hard to imagine a Wrestlemania week without The Undertaker. This is the show where he grew own legacy and thereby made this show ‘the showcase of immortals’. It’s safe to say that this is his yard where he competed for the past 26 years to set an incredible record of 24-2. So his presence means a lot to the fans.
But the strange thing was that WWE did not book The Undertaker for the 35th edition of Wrestlemania. It was for the first time in the past two decades that The Deadman was not having any storylines ongoing leading up to the biggest event of the year. So we doubted to see the icon in his own home ground. Making the rumors true. He did not show up at all.
Heading into the show, some insider scoops were available via the internet. Firstly, The Undertaker arrived in New York City with his wife. Secondly, sources like Slice Wrestling added that The Phenome will appear at Wrestlemania 35 no matter what. Finally, he decided to make an appearance to enthrall the fans on the post-Mania edition of WWE Raw.
