AJ Styles was the biggest star in the independent scene for a long time. He has worked in most of the wrestling promotions that is and was so-called rivals of the WWE. So we have never thought that Vince McMahon would like to sign him under his banner. But it happened in 2016 which turned out to be the biggest sign in the company’s favor.

Top 10 facts from AJ Styles title reign

Nobody has a dream run in the first three years as AJ Styles has. He picked up the WWE Championship within just nine months of entering the scene. Later he ended up having a 371-day championship run with the most prestigious belt shattering many records. Plus, this solidified his spot as the show-runner of Smackdown Live brand.

Speculation on a dream match about AJ Styles

The status of AJ Styles with the WWE is quite doubtful following his title drop to Daniel Bryan in November 2018. Many believe that the contract negotiation played a pivotal role in this title change. WWE officials were unsure about whether he would like to re-sign with the WWE or not. It is still not clear when his deal will run out in due course.

Additionally, the rise of All Elite Wrestling has become a new headache for the WWE brand. They are targeting the WWE Superstars and AJ Styles should be on their list. Especially considering his contract is coming to an end, they might go all out to get him to give a major boost to their new roster.

Recent reports suggest that All Elite Wrestling might be in persuasion for the Phenomenal One. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that this could give him ‘a lot of leverage’ when it comes to a contract negotiation with the WWE. All the superstars are now having an alternate promotion who would offer the same amount money to them as the WWE.

All Elite Wrestling also has another major benefit on their side. Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks are the heads in the promotions who are friendly with most of the WWE Superstars. So they can churn out some of the existing talents from WWE to their brainchild. Could AJ Styles be one of them? It’s a million dollar question, right now.

WWE would lose a huge name in case AJ Styles chooses to leave at some point. All Elite Wrestling can provide him a much flexible schedule that he is in search of. Basically, WWE wanting to use him in a regular schedule is preventing him from signing in a long-time deal. For now, the speculation is AJ Styles will work until Wrestlemania, at least.
