WWE News: Updated Match Card for Summerslam 2017 After Raw and Smackdown

Arindam Paul / 10 August 2017

The Summerslam match card was updated to a certain extent following this week’s Raw and Smackdown. The feud between Big Show and Big Cass on Raw was ongoing for quite a few weeks now and needed a proper culmination. Since the audience was not getting much invested into it, the creative team decided to make it happen in a bigger capacity.

As seen in the past segments of Raw, Enzo Amore was present in every altercation between these two seven-footers. This turned out to be a bigger distraction for his former tag team partner, as he got knocked out by Big Show on two consecutive rows.

So, he begged for a match with the World’s largest athlete at Summerslam but wanted to get rid of Enzo. So, the General Manager, Kurt Angle came up with the idea of putting the fan-favorite superstar into the shark cage during their sanctioned match at the biggest event of the summer.

By virtue of this stipulation, the “Skywalker, smack-talker” will not be able to interfere in the match, as he will be suspended in a shark cage high above the ring. He will be pulled down only after the match gets officially over.

Apart from this huge match between these two behemoths, the Smackdown tag team title will be on the line, as per WWE’s announcements. The Usos will be getting a rematch at Summerslam for their lost titles from Battleground. This match might turn out to be the show-stealer of the night with two veteran tag teams squaring off, once again.

Also, the expected Finn Balor vs. Bray Wyatt matchup was also added to the match card of Summerslam. The feud between these two is brewing for quite sometimes and WWE Universe can’t wait to see them in a matchup in a bigger capacity. As for now, the Summerslam match card looks like this:

Roman Reigns vs. Samoa Joe vs. Braun Strowman vs. Brock Lesnar

Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Jinder Mahal
