WWE News: What To Expect From This Week’s Smackdown Live: July 4th, 2017

WWE Smackdown is finally over with the fallouts from the Money in the Bank PPV hosted on June 18th. Finally, we have received the first-ever Miss Money in the Bank in the form of Carmella. Starting from tonight, WWE will look forward to building the hype up for the upcoming Battleground PPV.

Since the entire WWE roster from both Raw and Smackdown is still travelling together, tonight’s who will also be hosted at the home of last night’s Raw i.e. the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona.

The night has already been stacked up with some previous announcements. In the WWE Championship scenario, we have just received the blockbuster announcement of the Punjabi Prison match returning at Battleground. This stipulation was chosen by Jinder Mahal and the champion is clearly having the upper hand heading towards the demonic structure.

It will be interesting to see how the company arranges the segments between these two in order to hype up the cage match which is back after a hiatus of more than a decade. Meanwhile, Randy Orton might not stop to get his hands on Jinder for disrespecting his family.

In case you don’t know, the number one contender for the Women’s Championship, Lana had come up with yet another excuse for losing the title match, last week. As posted on Twitter, she pointed out that her shoulder was clearly up while the referee’s count was on.

Since this is a valid point, the General Manager of Smackdown, Daniel Bryan noticed it, quickly. On social media, he announced that Lana will get another rematch on tonight’s episode. This feud might continue till the next PPV, as something new will be stored for Summerslam.

AJ Styles is the favourite one to win the Independence Day Battle Royal and challenge Kevin Owens for the US title. Apart from this one contest, a new feud will begin on Smackdown between Sami Zayn and Mike Kanellis. Last week, Zayn interrupted the Kanellis family celebration and they are not going to take it, lightly.

Plus, John Cena is returning on Smackdown after three long months. It is expected that his comeback will be ruined by Rusev who will come out with his own pledge and start a rivalry. Rapper Wale will be the guest star on the show who will host the ‘rap off’ battle between The Usos and The New Day.
