Alexa Bliss is back in the title hunt after spending almost a year out of the context. She won a #1 contender’s match on WWE Smackdown Live last week defeating Charlotte Flair and Carmella. This will allow her to face Bayley for the SmackDmdown Women’s Championship at Stomping Grounds pay-per-view on June 23rd.

Now we should note that just a few days ago, the career of Alexa Bliss was in sheer jeopardy due to concussions. In fact, WWE removed her from Money in the Bank ladder match due to an injury on an emergency basis. Reports were also out that WWE is not likely to allow her to wrestle since she was dealing with a spinal concussion that is the most extreme one wrestler can expect to pick up.

Cut to last week’s edition of Smackdown, Alexa Bliss returned to the show using Wild Card Rule and become a new contender for the title. It was a strange situation since she is a superstar from the Raw roster and is still able to compete in a title match. So what could be the reason behind WWE making us the new challenger, put of nowhere?

During Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez discussed the situation unfolded with Alexa Bliss in recent times. He confirmed that The Goddess has suffered multiple concussions within a short period of time. From that point of view, she might not be wrestling at all. But WWE may have changed their policy in recent times where you can do everything if you get cleared. That’s why Bliss is back at the top of the roster, suddenly.

Here’s more from veteran wrestling journalist expressing his view that WWE should change the policy, (courtesy ringsidenews.com)

“I realize the thing says ‘cleared’ but to me it’s not a pass/fail. It’s like ‘You’re cleared? Maybe we should ease into this whole wrestling,’ but that’s not the way they do things. I think that should change.”

Hopefully, Alexa Bliss will be able to remain concussion-free in the future. She has plenty of career left in her that will be good for the WWE, as well. After all, she is the most successful women’s champion of the modern era just after Charlotte Flair. So it would be a misfortune for the company if they can’t use her on TV program, regularly.
