WWE News: WWE Keeping Backup Plan Ready for Wrestlemania Main Event
Mar 9, 2018 at 1:26 PM
The main event of Wrestlemania 34 is said to be finalised just after Roman Reigns won the Elimination Chamber match.
This handed him the main event spot for a fourth time in a row at the biggest event of the year. He will compete in the Universal Championship match against Brock Lesnar which is undoubtedly going to be the last match on the card with a potential coronation being reserved for him.
Meanwhile, it’s no secret the fans are unhappy with WWE’s decision of letting the Big Dog to main-eventing Wrestlemania, one more time. The outcome of the match against Brock Lesnar is much predictable, as the current champion will leave the WWE following this match. Hence, he is bound to drop the title on the show.
Also, he did have a one-year long run with the title which is why a change is much-needed that will happen in New Orleans. But, we need to remember the recent controversy around Roman Reigns is a headache for the WWE officials, as well. It’s not the fan backlash but a much deeper thing that could harm the status of the franchise player of the company.

In recent times, the Samoan superstar has been accused of dealing with drugs. His name is associated with drug-dealer Richard Rodriguez. Although Reigns denied any sort of alignment between him and the mentioned dealer, the controversies are running rampant. Owing to this, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Letter noted WWE is keeping a backup plan ready.
According to the update, Braun Strowman will be the trump card for the company. They are keeping this man ready just in case things get complicated. This man will get inserted into the WWE Universal Championship match at Wrestlemania. This is the same reason why Strowman acted most powerfully at Elimination Chamber, too, demolishing Roman Reigns.

Check out further updates from The 434 Facebook page regarding this drug-dealing accusing situation,
“WWE feels that it is important to have a backup plan in case damaging evidence against Reigns may come out of the investigation that filmmaker Jon Bravo is doing. Reigns was implicated in a steroid ring by jailed steroids dealer Richard Rodriguez, along with actors Mark Wahlberg and Josh Duhamel. Bravo noted that his report on WWE is complete. Bravo also notes that the report will contain evidence on Reigns and other former & current WWE Superstars.”
