WWE News: Xavier Woods Suffered an Injury in WWE House Show
Aug 31, 2017 at 1:56 PM
The injury season might have just got worse for the WWE with a series of superstars suffering the same consequences, almost at the same time. In recent times, two major names were sidelined due to injury which changed the course of the company. Bayley suffered a shoulder injury that changed the Summerslam main event altogether.
Just after Summerslam, Asuka was detected with a collarbone injury which forced her to relinquish the NXT Women’s Championship. Plus, Big Cass suffered a devastating knee injury on last week’s Raw that will sideline him for around nine months. If rumours are to be believed, then Samoa Joe is also suffering from concussions which might take away two months of his career.
Presently, we are getting news that one of the most dynamic superstars in the current WWE locker room might have suffered the same fate, as well. The New Day member, Xavier Woods is said to be picking up a knee injury at a Smackdown house show.

It is to be noted that the event was hosted from WWE’s Arkansas tour that also witnessed Samoa Joe suffering a knee injury. While the show from Raw took place at Jonesboro, the Smackdown show emanated from Texarkana. This tour will certainly be devastating if both these injuries turn out to be something serious.
@XavierWoodsPhD just tore his knee up, I’d guarantee it Ref and @WWEFandango threw up the X #WWETexarkana

A WWE fan with the twitter handle @BigStevieCool95 reported it first that Xavier Woods ruptured his knee during the live event. A match was conducted featuring Tyler Breeze & Fandango, The New Day members (Woods & Kofi Kingston) and the Smackdown tag team champions, The Usos when the injury occurred.
As per the eye witnesses, Woods went for a jumping DDT to his opponent but missed the timing. He was pushed hard to land on his knees. He sat down capturing his knees by which his injury was visible to the audience.
Fandango and the referee signalled the medical team to come out in a hurry to take care of Woods. Kofi Kingston took an instant pinfall at the hands of their opponent so that Woods’ injury could be addressed, as early as possible. According to the recent update from Woods, he has a concussion in his MCL which will keep him away from in-ring competition for a month or so.
