This week’s WWE NXT confirmed a few matches for the upcoming New Year’s Evil special in early 2022. The main event match featured Pete Dunne in action while a Street Fight was also there on the card. Also, top WWE Superstar AJ Styles was in attendance at the show that took place at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

– WWE NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa kicked off the show and called out his current rival Bron Breakker to the ring. It was revealed that Bron will get his 2nd shot at the NXT Title at NXT New Year’s Evil, Ciampa vowed that Bron will lose again and slapped Bron who lifted up Ciampa, but then placed him back down. Bron promised that at New Year’s Evil he will eat him alive and take the NXT Championship.

WWE NXT 2.0 Results (21/12/21): Street Fight; Dunne vs. Tony 1

– Raquel Gonzalez defeated Dakota Kai in a Street Fight. Gonzalez hit her big one-arm chokeslam bomb onto a trash can for the pin to win. After the match, Raquel called out Mandy Rose and said she wants her WWE NXT Women’s Title rematch.

Cora Jade then came out and told Raquel that she wants to face Mandy for the title. Mandy appeared on the screen and proposed they have a Triple Threat Match for the NXT Women’s Title at NXT New Year’s EVIL. Women’s tag champs, Gigi Dolin and Jacey Jane came out and attacked Raquel and Cora from behind.

– Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake and Zack Gibson) vs. The Creed Brothers ended in a DQ after Jacket Time’s Kushida and Ikemon Jiro interfered. GYV brawled at Jacket Time at ringside to cause the disqualification.

– Dexter Lumis defeated Trick Williams (with WWE NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes) in a singles contest. Trick submitted to The Silencer submission from Lumis.

– RAW Superstar AJ Styles made a special appearance on NXT to confront Grayson Waller. AJ said Grayson needed the AJ rub, and noted how Grayson has become a clone of himself.

Grayson claimed that AJ lost his insurance policy in Omos on RAW. AJ claimed that they can settle the business, right there but Grayson said he will let Omos face him first.


– Malcolm Bivens issued a challenge to WWE NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes, to face NXT Cruiserweight Champion Roderick Strong at NXT New Year’s Evil with both the titles on the line. Later, the match for title unification was made official.

– Edris Enofe defeated Von Wagner in the next match. Enofe countered a powerbomb and rolled up Wagner for an easy win. Wagner attacked him after the match to stand tall.

– Io Shirai defeated Elektra Lopez (with Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde) in a singles contest. After an open palm strike, Shirai hit her pendant moonsault off the top rope for the win.

– Pete Dunne defeated Tony D’Angelo in the main event of WWE NXT. Dunne napped Tony’s fingers and connected with the Bitter End for the pin to win. Tony attacked Dunne with a Crowbar after the match ad then dropped him on the concrete with the neckbreaker finisher to end the show.
