WWE NXT presented the New Year’s Evil special in the first episode of 2022 where a new NXT Champion was crowned. The Cruiserweight title and the North American Titles were unified on the night where NXT Women’s Title was also on the line. Two top Raw Superstars were also in attendance on the show that took place at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
– The Title Unification Match kicked things off where WWE NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes (c) defeated NXT Cruiserweight Champion Roderick Strong (c) to become a double champion. After kicking out of the X-Plex move, Hayes went to the top for a flying leg drop to secure the pinfall win.

– AJ Styles attended the show and he wanted to face Grayson Waller, but Grayson had some other plans. It was announced that they will lock horns, next week in the main event instead.
– The Men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic 2022 will begin in 2 weeks while The Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will also begin, next month.
– WWE RAW Tag Team Champion Riddle and MSK defeated Imperium (WALTER and WWE NXT Tag Team Champions Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner) in a six-man tag team contest. Riddle hit a Floating Bro on Aichner and hit an RKO on Barthel to get the pin to win on behalf of his team.

WWE NXT 2.0 Results (28/12/21): NXT Women’s Title match
– In the Triple Threat Match For WWE NXT Women’s Championship, Mandy Rose (c) defeated Cora Jade and Raquel Gonzalez to retain her title. Gonzalez took Jade to the top for a superplex but Jade shoved Gonzalez out to the floor. Rose blocked a roll-up from behind and countered it with her own roll-up to get the in to win.
– Elektra Lopez announced a match for next week between Santos Escobar and Xyon Quinn where she will leave with the winner.
– In an in-ring segment, Von Wagner attacked Andre Chase. Wagner dropped Chase with a big Angle Slam and then wanted to attack some of the Chase University students but the officials rushed at the ring to restore order.
– Pete Dunne vs. Tony D’Angelo in a Crowbar on a Pole Match was confirmed announced for next week’s WWE NXT 2.0
– WWE NXT Championship Match was the main event of the night where Bron Breakker defeated Tommaso Ciampa (c) via Submission to win the Title. Breakker nailed a big flying Bulldog for a pop and applied the Steiner Recliner in the middle of the ring to make Ciampa tap out. Breakker won the title and celebrated to send the first NXT of 2022 off the air.
