It’s interesting to note that the last time Satomura was seen on NXT, was on the September 6, 2022, episode. On that night, Meiko defeated Perez in a singles contest. But that loss didn’t remove the fandom and admiration that Perez has for the veteran Japanese female wrestler.

Therefore, Perez and Satomura will be facing former WWE NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions, Kayden Carter and Katana Chance. The latter duo lost their titles, last Saturday at NXT Vengeance Day 2023 to Fallon Henley and Kiana James. On that same night, Perez successfully defended her title against Toxic Attraction’s Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne to continue with her title reign that started back on December 13.

Open challenge set for NXT, next week

Wes Lee appeared in a backstage interview on WWE NXT’s latest episode with McKenzie Mitchell. Lee talked about his incredible title match defense from this past Saturday. Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo interrupted the interview and took a jab at his abilities which led Lee to point out that he doesn’t need any help. He added that there will an open challenge for the title next week.

In more announcements for next week’s WWE NXT, Tyler Bate called out Grayson Waller for a match and that match has been added to the show. Waller’s suspension will be over next week, and Bate just wants the arrogant Australian Superstar to try and disrespect him. Plus, after a week’s absence, the reigning NXT Champion Bron Breakker will also be back on the show.
