The main event of the WWE NXT New Year’s Evil 2022 has been announced over on this week’s episode. The upcoming event will have a headliner as Tommaso Ciampa will be defending the NXT World Title against Bron Breakker. It was Ciampa who granted the title match to Breakker on last night’s NXT episode.
Breakker vs. Ciampa II will be a rematch from the WWE NXT Halloween Havoc main event back on October 26. Ciampa retained in that match, which was Breakker’s first big match since debuting just a few months ago.

WWE NXT Women’s Title will also be defended in a Triple Threat at the upcoming NXT New Year’s Evil special. During last night’s NXT 2.0 episode, it was confirmed that NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose will defend her title against Cora Jade and Raquel Gonzalez in a Triple Threat on the first NXT show of 2022.
This week’s WWE NXT, saw Gonzalez calling out Rose after winning the Street Fight against Dakota Kai in the opener. Cora Jade interrupted and had some chatter over who would get to Rose, first for the title.
Rose then interrupted from the big screen, live from a swimming pool somewhere, and said because she’s in a giving mood in the Holiday season, she will give both Jade and Gonzalez a title shot at New Year’s Evil. Rose then set up NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Jacy Jayne and Gigi Dolin attack Jade and Gonzalez from behind with some sort of weapons in hand. Rose previously defeated Gonzalez in a singles contest at Halloween Havoc to win the WWE NXT Women’s Title.

A Title vs. Title Unification Match has also been announced for the WWE NXT New Year’s Evil episode. In this bout, NXT Cruiserweight Champion Roderick Strong will take on NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes with the winner holding both the straps. The Diamond Mine has been feuding with Hayes and others as Malcolm Bivens issued the challenge during last night’s NXT 2.0 show. Hayes later accepted and the match was made, official.
By the looks of the scenario, New Year’s Evil will mark the end of the WWE NXT Cruiserweight Title. A contract signing for Strong vs. Hayes will also go down next Tuesday night and the segment will be moderated by Wade Barrett.
