Seth Rollins: WWE Officially Announces The Messiah’s Return Date

Seth Rollins was expected to be back in action on this week’s episode of Smackdown after his Royal Rumble appearance, this past Sunday night. But for some reason, that return has been pushed back for one more week. As confirmed, last night, the former Universal Champion will be making his return to WWE SmackDown on FOX next Friday night, instead.

For the first time in more than two months, Seth Rollins made his return to action during Sunday’s 30-Man Royal Rumble Match, but he skipped the latest episode of SmackDown show.

As questions were raised regarding his status among the audience, WWE clarified the confusion by airing a new video package for him and thereby announcing that he will be back on TV for next Friday’s SmackDown.

Seth Rollins had been away from WWE since the Survivor Series pay-per-view in November. He sacrificed himself to Sheamus’ Brogue Kick to get written off WWE TV. In reality, he took some time off to be with fiancée Becky Lynch as she welcomed their first child together in December.

At that point, he just wrapped up a feud with Murphy and The Mysterios. Although there have been some rumors about the angle still continuing on Smackdown, it is likely over that WWE won’t drag this around, anymore.

Seth Rollins appeared at Royal Rumble 2021

Seth Rollins entered the Men’s Royal Rumble Match as the number 29 seed and was the 28th elimination, tossed out by the winner, WWE Hall of Famer Edge. Rollins lasted 8 minutes and 48 seconds in the match who scored three eliminations on his own – Riddle, Daniel Bryan, and Christian. He also joined Edge and Christian to eliminate Braun Strowman.

Following the Rumble appearance, Seth Rollins took to Instagram to issue his first comments since returning to the ring during Sunday’s WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

“Believe in me like I believe in you. We can be reborn together. #royalrumble @wwe,” he wrote.

Prior to this, WWE on FOX falsely promoted Seth Rollins’ return on Smackdown for the first episode of 2021 which was never confirmed. Now that his comeback is set for the February 12 episode, there’s still no update on whom he will feuding with. Stay tuned for more updates on The Messiah.
