WWE Raw 26th Oct 2015: 3 things that worked

Arindam Paul / 28 October 2015

This week’s Raw was pulled off well with the fact that it neither has the nostalgia of last week which have names like Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker nor the big names like John Cena, Randy Orton or Brock Lesnar. And also it was able to plant seeds for “Road to Survivor Series.” WWE had invested all the time in recent potentials that included Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. Here are the 3 things that worked:

The Entire Tournament

The Authority once again kicked off RAW and when we were about to think that it is going to be another night of long promos we were proven wrong. They put some simple matches within a tournament to make the things significant though we all know the no.1 contender is going to be Roman Reigns. They actually make the show pretty well by making Roman Reigns looking really strong as to present him as the next strongest contender for Rollins. The history present between them is really stronger after what happened at Wrestlemania 31. So this feud is going to be a good one.

Stone Cold Appearance

One surely would not want to miss one single appearance given by the Texas Rattlesnake Stone Cold Steve Austin. Though it was a short backstage one but it was worthy enough to enlighten the segment. Since he is in the face of the WWE 2k16 video game he was present at RAW  promoting the Video Game. He was found giving the “what” treatment to the Miz which was thoroughly entertaining. He had done this to anyone in a long, long period so that created a great impact on the audience.

The Six man tag match

The Authority gave a chance to all the winners from Hell in a Cell PPV to win their respective matches and become a part of the fatal-4-way match to determine the no.1 contender for the WWE gold. That was a fair decision, but the creatives did not do injustice to the losers as well, as they put them into a mammoth tag match. This was repetitive, but it made more sense, considering that they were on the losing side on Sunday night. They were given a second chance and they made the most out of it by making the match more entertaining. Six man tag matches are quite a repetitive but on this night it was executed quite aptly.
