Cody Rhodes featured in the opening segment of WWE Raw, this week which was the post-Wrestlemania 38 episode. He got a mic in hand which helped him to get all the emotions off his chest after returning home, this past Saturday night. But that wasn’t the only thing he was assigned to do on the show.

As reported by Wrestling INC and noted by several fans in attendance on social media, Rhodes defeated Kevin Owens in the dark main event match. The bout following the main show of WWE Raw lasted roughly six minutes. According to fans in attendance, KO taunted Rhodes with the Young Bucks pose at one point in the match.

In more news from WWE Raw, Seth Rollins didn’t attack Cody Rhodes after getting pinned by him. Rather, he shook hands with The American Nightmare and left the ring without any physical incident.

Since the happening, fans have been wondering about the purpose of the segment. Dave Meltzer reflected on it on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio. It appears like Rollins, as a pro in WWE Raw locker room, welcomed him back to the big leagues,

“It was just basically the ‘shoot’ that, ‘You’re welcome here now. Now you’re in the big leagues,’ thing, or whatever, so that’s kind of their storyline.”
