Cody Rhodes made his huge return to WWE at WrestleMania 38 Night Two which appeared to be a huge success for the company. Just after arriving, he kicked off a feud with Seth Rollins that continued for the next few months and it proved to be one of the best rivalries of the year 2022. Eventually, the surprise return also got the award of the Moment of the Year.
On that returning night, Cody Rhodes defeated Rollins on the Grandest Stage of Them All to make a great start to his second stint in the WWE. Then at Hell in a Cell, he again won to wrap up the program with Seth Rollins but unfortunately, he suffered an injury that sidelined him for a number of months. Being a top superstar from Monday Night Raw is being felt all the time.

We haven’t seen Cody Rhodes in WWE since June 2022, that’s after beating Seth Rollins in the main event of Hell in a Cell. Cody Rhodes could be returning by the end of this year
In an update, Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Cody Rhodes isn’t likely to take the previously assumed timespan to recover. He’s healing ahead of time and the source noted that The American Nightmare is pretty much back to “normal” routine when it comes to his daily life and that he’s training, “extremely light” for his in-ring return,
“Rhodes appears to be a little ahead of schedule in healing. He’s working with DDP. Things are normal for him in real life but obviously any upper body weights he can use are extremely light.”
When it comes to the exact timing of his return, Meltzer informed that while the Royal Rumble was previously planned, he was supposed to return at the PLE but it could now be pushed forward to the previously scheduled WWE Day 1 on January 1, 2023.
“There’s no firm date for a return this early, and even when there is, I would expect it’ll be kept quiet for a surprise pop. Originally the idea of Rumble looked good. Perhaps Day 1 since it’s in Atlanta and he grew up and still lives there.”
Cody Rhodes is working with veteran DDP and he is progressing in a normal way. The belief is that WWE will keep his return a secret in order to get a huge pop and that could happen even before 2022 comes to a close.
