In the absence of credible women’s tag teams on WWE Raw and Smackdown roster, an upcoming tournament is halted. WWE’s creative teams have already been blasted for not building up enough teams in the first place which led to this condition. Now, it appears a new team could be under formation featuring a former women’s champion.

During the Fatal-4-Way main event bout on WWE Raw also featuring Rhea Ripley and Doudrop, Alexa Bliss and Liv Morgan joined forces on several occasions to bring up some tandem offense against their opponents. A brief moment was also noticed in the match when the two superstars nodded and smiled at each other before targeting Ripley.

Eventually, Ripley was the one to pick up the win via pinfall over Doudrop and earn an opportunity to WWE Raw Women’s Championship at Money in the Bank premium live event. With no such creative plan set in stone for Bliss and Morgan, it seems pretty obvious that the duo can form a team at least for some time.

New alliance teased on this week’s WWE Raw

WWE’s social media accounts teased the alliance during the live telecast of this week’s WWE Raw while the WWE on FOX account also asked fans to name the duo. There’s no secret that WWE’s women’s division does need some new teams and a potential alliance between Morgan and Bliss could come in handy for the immediate future as WWE could possibly have plans in the pipeline for a women’s tag team tournament.

On the May 16 episode of WWE Raw, Sasha Banks and Naomi opted to walk out of the episode which led to an indefinite suspension for the duo. WWE then announced that they are about to hold a future tournament to crown new Women’s Tag Team Champions. At the time of the announcement, WWE didn’t specify a date or the participants for the tournament.

As of now, Natalya & Shayna Baszler, Tamina Snuka & Dana Brooke, and Nikki A.S.H. & Doudrop are the only active women’s tag teams from WWE Raw and Smackdown. Carmella & Queen Zelina Vega could have been an option but they have split up shortly after dropping the tag titles at WrestleMania 38. Speculations are there that they could reunite in the future since the women’s tag titles tourney will happen in due course.
