WWE Roadblock results: Triple H retained WWE title, Brock Lesnar dominated

WWE Roadblock was hosted live from Toronto, Canada’s jam packed Ricoh Coliseum crowd where things got started with the New Day mocking the League of Nations. With them saying that one balanced diet will prevent the League of Nations from getting the pinfall the two teams squared off inside the ring for the tag team championship. The League of Nations vs. The New Day (tag team championship)

The champions took the upper hand in the match with some early tagging and the as usual Unicorn stampede against King Barrett. The powerful league of Nations came back with Barrett hitting with a winds of change and Sheamus delivering a battering ram off the top rope to Kingston. Kingston soon sprang back into the match, landing a high cross-body block against The Celtic Warrior. In the end, the referee got distracted by Xavier Woods and his trombone which allowed Big E delivering Barrett with the Big Ending to get the pinfall.

Chris Jericho vs. Jack Swagger

Chris Jericho faced the threat of All American Jack Swagger. Jericho initially got a warm reception from the fellow countrymen of Canada. But he himself turned them on by talking trash about the Toronto crowd. Swagger unleashed on Jericho early on, causing Y2J to escape the ring and leading the real American for a chase. He constantly threatened Y2J for locking in the patriot lock but got his head-first into the turnbuckle which allowed Jericho to lock in the Walls of Jericho and getting the submission victory.

NXT Tag Team Champions The Revival vs. Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady

With so much bad blood between the team, it was expected that it is going to be a brawl between them. With the high offenses from the challengers, the champions got retreated for the first part of the match. After some back and forth going the fight continued outside of the ring with Dawson using Carmella as the shield. Cassady met with a high-Impact shatter Machine to get out off the match. The numbers game caught Enzo despite his valiant effort, and the Revival crushed Amore with a top rope variation to retain the tag title.

Charlotte vs. Natalya

Charlotte had no intention to defend her title at WWE Roadblock until she had a backstage confrontation with Natalya which set up the impromptu match. The second- and third-generation Divas started the bout with locking their legs and Charlotte sending Natalya to be hit hard on the floor. Natalya would not be put away easily, though, as she garnered a two-count off a sit-out powerbomb and locking in the Sharpshooter to the much delight of the Toronto crowd. Ric Flair was the one to cause the momentary distraction which was enough for Charlotte to roll Nattie up with her legs on the rope illegally and pick up the win.

Brock Lesnar vs. Bray Wyatt & Luke Harper in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match

Perhaps Wyatt got terrified by the beast’s outlook and declaring the match as a 2-on-1 handicap match with Luke Harper joining him in the match. That did not stop the beast to unleash his wrath to Harper and taking him to the Suplex City. Wyatt had not any intention to get tagged into the match and Lesnar followed with a flurry of Germans to Harper and making WWE Roadblock into Suplex City. Harper got a slight momentum by delivering the discuss clothesline and a superkick. But Lesnar is not someone to get derailed that easily and he finished Harper off with an F-5.

Sami Zayn vs. Stardust

The newest member of the WWE roster and the probable challenger for the Intercontinental championship at Wrestlemania collides with Stardust at WWE Roadblock. The two warriors swapped wristlocks and armbars at the start, with Zayn gaining the advantage after several lightning-fast arm drags. Stardust turned his attention by attacking the midsection of Zayn but he fought back with valiant effort. The former NXT champion cornered Stardust and nearly took his head off with a Helluva Kick for the win.

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Triple H vs. Dean Ambrose

There were moments in the match when it looked that the title was heading to the Ambrose Asylum for moments. Ambrose also proved that he is capable of pinning the Game for three seconds. With Ambrose’s threat to change the main event of Wrestlemania, The Game fought tooth-and-nail to protect his gold. Ambrose started with a slap to Triple H and controlling the entire first portion of the match and mocking him. Triple H tried with the pedigree many times with Ambrose countering every single time. Ambrose targeted The Game’s leg with the champion barely saving himself reaching to the rope. Then happened the unthinkable with Ambrose hitting the dirty deeds and get the pinfall turning the Ricoh Coliseum into the Ambrose Asylum. But that was only to find out Ambrose’s foot was under the bottom rope. The Game came back fiercely into the contest and delivered a match-sealing Pedigree.
