Royal Rumble 2022 pay-per-view is planned for later this month and a top superstar from Smackdown is the current favorite to pick up the win. Originally, Rumble is the show that kicks off the WWE’s PPV schedule for a calendar year but things were planned in a different way, this year. WWE Day 1 is the first PPV of 2002 and it’s likely to have a big impact on The Rumble.
WWE Royal Rumble 2022 will be held inside The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, Missouri on January 29. Just like Day 1, it will be held on a Saturday night, just a day before the NFL’s AFC and NFC Championship Games to determine the Super Bowl matchup, to prevent any sort of competitions from the mainstream sporting event.
WWE Day 1: No Title Change Expected To Happen At The PPV
The early betting odds for Royal Rumble 2022 are out courtesy of SkyBet. It appears that Brock Lesnar who won the event back in 2003 is the current favorite with 3/1 odds by his name. It should also be mentioned that he’s also slated to challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship on tonight’s Day 1 pay-per-view in Atlanta, Georgia.

Royal Rumble 2022 to have an impact from WWE Day 1
Per the recent reports from Wrestling Observer, WWE officials wanted to do everything possible to ensure the presence of Reigns, Lesnar, and Paul Heyman on the first PPV event of 2022. A major Wrestlemania angle is planned at Day 1 which is supposed to lead to a rematch in April. Heyman is likely to play a pivotal role, helping Reigns in retaining his title despite the fact that he was fired by the Tribal Chief.
Once the set of incidents goes down at Day 1, fans will be clamoring for a rematch between Reigns and Lesnar at Wrestlemania. The latter one could thereby enter the Royal Rumble 2022 and win the melee to confirm the headliner match at The Biggest Event of the Year. However, things could change given there are plenty of times left in the buildup.
The second-highest odds of winning Royal Rumble 2022 stands with Seth Rollins (7/1). Omos has the third-best odds at 8/1 while the fourth position of 9/1 is shared by The Rock and Styles. These names are followed by Kevin Owens (10/1), Damian Priest (12/1), Drew McIntyre (12/1), Reigns (14/1), Bobby Lashley (16/1) Riddle (16/1).
