Builds for Royal Rumble 2022 has begun on WWE programming over on Raw and Smackdown for the past couple of episodes. To date, 10 superstars from the male roster and 19 superstars from the female roster have been confirmed to enter the match. The excitement is pretty high about the women’s division match as it will have several legendary returns.
A few such returns are also expected at the Men’s Royal Rumble 2022. WWE Ruthless Aggression Era Superstar Chris Masters took to Twitter and posted a video that showed a typical Rumble match countdown, followed by his old WWE entrance video.

“At the very least it is fun to imagine,” Chris wrote in his post to indicate that he could be one of the returnees to the WWE on this upcoming PPV night. There’s no update available on the former WWE Superstar possibly returning for the Rumble match.

Royal Rumble 2022 will be the first-ever occasion in the PPV’s illustrious history where a wrestler from a rival promotion, IMPACT Wrestling (fka TNA) Knockouts World Champion Mickie James will be participating in the Women’s Rumble match. One such surprising entry could be reserved in the Men’s Rumble match, as well.
Via WrestleVotes, it’s been noted that WWE is expected to try and have an “unexpected” entrant from the so-called Forbidden Door participants in the Men’s Royal Rumble 2022 as well. No update is available on who that entrant would be. There’s a lot of speculation on Impact World Champion Moose possibly entering The Rumble after his recent comments on WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
