WWE Rumor: Old pay-per-views are coming back post brand split 1

With all the exciting news coming around the internet regarding the upcoming brand split, we just want to say “the more….the merrier”. It looks like WWE is getting into full swing of the brand split season and giving the fans with whatever ways possible once the extension comes to fruition next month.
Fans wanted to get back some old pay-per-views back in the WWE pay-per-view schedule and if a leaked post in reddit.com turns out to be true then the company is bringing back two old pay-per-views and renaming one existing one. Also, the existing pay-per-view will go through a lot of changes once Smackdown gets its own identity on the USA Network.
The below tweet indicates that the Backlash and No Mercy pay-per-view are coming back into the schedule after Summerslam. Also, the Night of Champions pay-per-view will be renamed as Clash of Champions just like WCW’s older pay-per-view.

The tweet points out the fact that each pay-per-view apart from the big fours in the year will be conducted separately by both Raw and Smackdown. It also mentioned the schedule of the entire pay-per-view schedule for the rest of the year with the time and place details.
It was previously reported that Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler who was in attendance at the 38th annual Superman Celebration in Metropolis, IL, has disclosed a fact to the fans in attendance. He told that WWE will host two monthly pay-per-views post brand split days except for the four big PPV’s of the year i.e. Wrestlemania, Summerslam, Royal Rumble and Survivor Series. Apart from these four biggies every month will have two separate PPVs, one for WWE Raw and one for WWE Smackdown.
Though nothing is concrete yet considering that WWE’s plans are highly volatile but as a fan, we just can’t help from getting excited.
As announced earlier, Smackdown will go live on air starting from July 19th on Tuesday Nights on the USA Network and the much-anticipated WWE Draft will take place on the same night which will decide new split roster, new championships, and even new pay-per-views distinctively for both Raw and Smackdown.
