WWE Rumor: Paige To Miss First-Ever Women’s Royal Rumble Match

Arindam Paul / 14 January 2018

Almost every superstar from the women’s roster in the WWE has been confirmed to perform in the first-ever Royal Rumble match to be held for them. Over the past few weeks, the female superstars from both Raw and Smackdown declared their names for this match. Only the champions from both the brands will have to sit out of this historical occasion.

Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss have been the headliners of the women’s division for a long time now. But, as per the rules, the title-holders will have to wait for the challengers who will be determined after the match. Meanwhile, another prime name is expected to sit out the event, as well causing much disgust to the fans.

According to the reports from Squared Circle Sirens.com, none other than Paige will miss the Royal Rumble match due to the injury suffered in the back portion. It was earlier reported that she sustained a severe injury during a house show in the WWE Holiday Tour. Sasha Banks botched a move to injure her badly after which the match was called off.

Going forward, Paige’s name was withdrawn from all of the upcoming house shows, as well indicating that she might have to be out of action for a significant amount of time. However, her appearance on WWE Raw was the hint that the injury might be a minor one. But, now the latest news coming her status might be in jeopardy. Check out the updates from the source,

“WWE Superstar Paige who suffered a head injury during WWE live event on Long Island last month will reportedly not be a part of the first-ever women’s rumble as she won’t be cleared in time, according to PWInsider.

After being injured the match was immediately stopped and a stretcher was brought out, but Paige did walk out on her own. The injury is worse than thought, and as of right now she won’t be in the women’s rumble unless somehow she gets cleared before that time.”

As stated earlier, WWE took all the precautions to make Paige ready for the Royal Rumble match following the injury. She was seen only in promo segments and not in wrestling capacity in all the recent shows. So, all of these measures will fail if we reach a negative outcome.

The anti-Diva is also considered to be one of the hot favorites to win the match, ass well. So, the creative team might just have to rethink their plans if they can’t count the former champion on the list.
