The Undertaker is the most regular name at Wrestlemania for the last 25 years.
This is that time of the year in the WWE when the biggest names of the company resurface on WWE programming. His name has been a constant which is main event attraction for the fans who come all around the world. The match featuring this man has always been a marquee attraction for the WWE Universe.
This year, there are some negative reports which stated the Undertaker might not perform, at all breaking the norm of the last two decades.
Considering he indicated the loss at Wrestlemania 33 at the hands of Roman Reigns being his last match, WWE officials might not bring him back in this season.
However, these are all rumours, at this point which are not confirmed, at all. John Cena recently called out the Deadman on an episode of WWE Raw hinting the dream match is coming up. But, he also added that the WWE Raw officials informed him that this couldn’t be possible. So, he shifted to the Smackdown brand to find a new opponent.
A recent report from cagesideseats.com suggests Cena will not have to look beyond the Phenome for a Wrestlemania opponent. The match will indeed happen but as part of the Smackdown Live brand. It means for the first-time ever after seven years, The Undertaker will involve in a storyline angle on the blue brand, exclusively.
It will be quite suitable for storyline perspective, too. As the Raw officials have banned the match, their rival brand will get the opportunity to host the feud. Both these men are the free agents of the WWE which means there should not be any bar for their future appearances on this brand. John Cena failed while gunning for the WWE Championship at the Fastlane PPV.
Technically, this is a good idea, too. All the big storyline angles will be happening around the WWE Raw brand including the Ronda Rousey, Brock Lesnar, Asuka and more. On Smackdown, there’s only one marquee feud planned for ‘Mania which is the Styles vs Nakamura rivalry.
If this feud gets execute here, then it will benefit the brand to a huge extent.
