WWE Rumour: The Storyline Based on Goldust Gets Wiped Out

As per the recent updates, Goldust hinted on Twitter that the reserved storyline for him is taking a long time to feature on TV since it’s in the pipeline.
According to him, the angle is on the creative team table, for now, and will soon be on television. However, the happenings on WWE TV suggested a complete otherwise.
Following Summerslam PPV, he was booked in a 15-man elimination match to determine the number one contender for the Intercontinental title. He was not able to pull off the victory. Once that match was over, he was booked in a singles contest against Bray Wyatt on this past edition of Raw.
Not only he was manhandled by the Eater of the World for the entire match, but also suffered a humiliating assault, after the contest. Wyatt wiped his face-paint with a towel which was a pure insult to the veteran. It was clear that Goldust is up to putting over the relevant talents in the locker room and might not get another good run in the future as his prime days are over.
So, it is quite obvious that the sources are suggesting the previous angle planned for the Bizarre One has been dropped. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter suggested the creative team is not intending to plan anything new for him, as the planned storyline has been dropped.
Apparently, Goldust was in search for protégé from the Raw roster which was supposed to be revealed at the Summerslam PPV. It was a good idea to put a new talent with the veteran superstar so that he can earn a fame under his wings. But, it looks like the officials could not find the face, till date.
So, the momentum picked by the former tag team and an Intercontinental champion has also taken him nowhere. He turned on his former tag team partner R-Truth to turn heel in June, and we thought that something big would be waiting for him. However, it looks like; he will be given a backstage role, sooner on Raw.
