Sasha Banks is back on SmackDown and she is seemingly focused on gaining back the gold she lost at WrestleMania. In a couple of appearances, yesterday night, the returnee made it clear that she will be coming after Bianca Belair, right away.
This week’s SmackDown on FOX from the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota featured an in-ring segment with Kayla Braxton interviewing SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair as she was celebrating 110 days as the champion. (She won the belt from Sasha Banks at WrestleMania and crossed the 100-day landmark a couple of weeks ago to solidify her status as a strong champion).

Belair was interrupted by Carmella, who wanted a third shot at the title. Zelina Vega also interrupted the session and made her point to get a title shot. Belair then accepted Vega’s challenge but was quickly attacked from behind by Carmella with a cheap shot. Vega and Carmella then double-teamed on Belair, beating her around the ring.

At this point, the music hit as Sasha Banks came out to a big pop from the crowd. She rushed to the ring and took out Carmella and then Vega. She helped Belair up as they hugged to end the segment. Sonya Deville later announced in a backstage segment that this week’s SmackDown main event will feature Banks and Belair vs. Vega and Carmella in a tag team action.
Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair then teamed up to face Vega and Carmella in the main event of SmackDown. The match finish witnessed Banks hitting Carmella with the Backstabber and then applying the Bank Statement for the win. After the main event, the match-winners celebrated until Banks turned on Belair from behind, dropping her with a Backstabber.
The Target Center showered Sasha Banks with boos as she continued beating Belair around the ring and taunting her with the title belt. Banks hit a tornado DDT and applied the Bank Statement as the referee tried to separate her from Belair who was screaming in pain. Banks then stood tall with the SmackDown Women’s Title as the show went off the air.

Sasha Banks vs. Bianca Belair has been rumored to happen at the WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view on Saturday, August 21 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. However, the match is yet to be confirmed by the WWE. The potential next challenger for the title has been away from WWE since dropping the belt to Belair in the main event of WrestleMania 37 Night One back in April.
