Tokyo Olympian Gold Medalist Gable Steveson has officially been signed with the WWE. As reported earlier, speculations around this particular signing have been going on for quite sometimes, now. The reigning NCAA wrestling champion has now been confirmed to be under a deal with the WWE while his brother, Bobby Steveson has already been signed on, last month as he started with the most recent WWE Performance Center Class.
The Steveson brothers are admittedly longtime WWE fans and they can now look forward to making some memory of their own with the company.
WWE has since noted that Gable Steveson has signed an exclusive agreement with the company. This contract is WWE’s first-ever NCAA NIL (names, image, likeness) deal. Perhaps, the latest signee could continue performing at the NCAA if and when required through this unique deal while also being with the WWE.
“WWE signs Olympic gold medalist and reigning NCAA wrestling champion Gable Steveson to an exclusive agreement. In the company’s first-ever NIL deal, Steveson will join the WWE roster while defending his NCAA title for the University of Minnesota,” the official statement from WWE about the signing mentioned.

Gable Steveson reacted to his WWE signing
Gable Steveson himself took to Twitter and said he has accomplished his childhood dream by signing this deal with the WWE,

Gable Steveson first appeared at ringside in WWE for the NXT “Takeover: Stand and Deliver” during WrestleMania 37 weekend back in April. Then he featured in the ring at SummerSlam with fellow Olympic gold medalist wrestler Tamyra Mensah-Stock for an appreciation from the audience (He also met WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon during SummerSlam). He has already named Paul Heyman and fellow Minnesota NCAA collegiate Brock Lesnar as his mentors.
For all the rightful reasons, Gable Steveson getting into pro wrestling has led to fans comparing him to another Gold Medalist in Olympis and that’s WWE Hall of Famer Angle. Many believe that he should be given a gimmick similar to Angle, with theme music and all. Gable responded to those comments in a tweet saying the following,
“I’m not the next Kurt Angle.. I’m Gable Steveson.. Now, Please Enjoy The Show.. Thank you! [popcorn emoji],”
