Despite the brand split being intact, WWE Raw Superstars have been appearing on WWE Smackdown and vice-versa, on a regular basis. With Hell in a Cell 2022 waiting in the calendar within just six days, the builds will continue on this week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown and there should be more cross-brand appearances.
PWInsider is reporting that AJ Styles and The Miz are scheduled to be there on this week’s WWE Smackdown from Columbus, Ohio. It’s unclear at this point why these two superstars of Monday Night Raw will be doing on WWE’s blue brand. Both these names are currently involved in storylines with talents from Raw, heading into WWE’s next premium live event.

Perhaps, WWE could be using these two for the dark main event matches for the upcoming night. Roman Reigns isn’t likely appearing on WWE Smackdown, for two weeks in a row and his absence could possibly be requiring Styles and Miz on the card, going by the looks.

WWE Raw and WWE Smackdown superstars are making regular cross-brand appearances
For the past several weeks, AJ Styles has aligned himself with Finn Balor and Liv Morgan involved in a feud against The Judgment Day. The Miz has been helping Seth Rollins by going up against Cody Rhodes for the ongoing Rollins vs. Rhodes feud, leading up to Hell in a Cell 2022. Miz has also been accompanying WWE United States Champion Austin Theory to help him out against the returning Raw Superstar Mustafa Ali.
Both Rollins and Rhodes have appeared on multiple episodes of WWE Smackdown for dark matches, earlier in May. The brand split seemed loose as Sami Zayn has been appearing on Raw aligning himself with The Usos since after they’ve won the Tag Team Championships from RK-Bro, a couple of weeks ago. Plus, some of the main roster names like AJ Styles and Natalya have also made their way to WWE NXT in recent times.
In more news, The Usos, Jimmy, and Jey are likely to defend their Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships against the team of Riddle and Shinsuke Nakamura. The Usos intentionally got themselves disqualified by using a steel chair during the championship contender’s match on this week’s Raw. Due to the outcome, Riddle will head into WWE Smackdown, this week, and perhaps the tag title match will be announced, this Friday for this weekend.
