King Xavier Woods reportedly suffered a leg injury during the latest bygone episode of WWE SmackDown on FOX. The Usos retained the SmackDown Tag Team Titles over Woods and Kofi Kingston in a Street Fight main event match. This also was a rematch from their title bout at WWE Day 1 PPV back on January 1.

There was a point where Xavier was fighting Jey Uso from the apron and connected with a big tornado DDT for a pin attempt. He then took a pop-up Samoan Drop from Jimmy Uso as the match continued for several more minutes until the pin was secured by The Usos.

Woods appeared on G4’s Attack Of The Show and revealed that he suffered an injury during the tag team bout on WWE Smackdown. The injury occurred as he was delivering the tornado DDT to Jey.

Woods noted that he tore the Plantaris muscle under his calf. His doctor state that he is expected to be out of action for 4-6 weeks, which means that he will most likely miss WWE Royal Rumble 2022 on January 29, and then WWE’s return to Saudi Arabia on February 19.

Another WWE Smackdown star injured at WWE Day 1

In another injury news from WWE Smackdown, Ridge Holland suffered a broken nose during the Kickoff show of WWE’s Day 1 event. The injury occurred when Cesaro helped his tag partner, Ricochet who flipped onto Holland but Ricochet’s boot landed straight on Holland’s face, busting open his nose. Holland had to be removed from the match as Sheamus continued wrestling against Cesaro and Ricochet in a 2-on-1 capacity.

During his recent appearance on El Brunch de WWE, the WWE Smackdown Superstar provided an update on his nose injury, revealing that he underwent surgery and his nose is now fixed.

“I feel good, I feel good,” Holland said. “I took a bit of a knock thanks to Ricochet but, the surgery was very good, the nose is fixed. I’m just waiting for it to heal fully now so, we’re good. We’re good.” (quotes courtesy POST Wrestling)

Holland didn’t rule out the possibility of wrestling with a mask upon his return on WWE Smackdown. A similar injury occurred to Sheamus, last year who suffered a broken nose and wrestled with a mask for some time.
