For the third time in his career, Jeff Hardy has reportedly been released by the WWE that leads to a big loss for the Smackdown roster. The top superstar was reportedly offered help and rehab, but the assistance was not accepted, according to the reports of Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.

As noted a couple of days ago, Jeff Hardy was sent home from the road last weekend in the middle of a Smackdown tour in Texas. He tagged out of a six-man main event during last Saturday’s WWE live event in Edinburg, Texas. It appeared that he went more sluggish as the match progressed.

As noted, Jeff Hardy immediately disappeared through the crowd as the security followed him. He never returned for the post-match celebration with Drew McIntyre and King Xavier Woods as they secured a win over The Bloodline. The younger Hardy then missed Sunday’s live event in Corpus Christi, Texas who was replaced by Rey Mysterio from the red brand.

It was later reported then WWE sent him home while the exact reason behind the decision wasn’t noted. Matt Hardy had provided an update on his brother, earlier this week, noting that he was doing okay at home.

Jeff Hardy and Drew McIntyre vs. Happy Baron Corbin and Madcap Moss, has thoroughly been advertised for this week’s SmackDown, but that match obviously will not happen due to Hardy being released, although WWE hasn’t officially confirmed it. There is no confirmation available, either on what will happen to McIntyre’s feud with Corbin and Moss now.

Jeff Hardy’s wife took to Twitter following the release and issued an update on how he is doing with the following statement, “Jeff is good. We are good. Post that you ‘heard’ that. Thanks. [peace sign fingers emoji].”

As of this writing, none of the Hardy family members have opened up about the recent WWE release of the Charismatic Enigma. This latest WWE run of him began at WrestleMania 33 in 2017 when he and Matt returned after an eight-year hiatus to capture the Raw tag team championships.

WWE Champion Big E has sent a message of support to Jeff Hardy and wished him the best for the future following this release,

“Jeff Hardy is so beloved by his fans and his peers. I’ve never heard a negative word about him & he’s always treated me with such kindness. Just wishing him and his family the very best.”
