A contract signing for the Smackdown Women’s Championship took place, last night. We also had an edition of the Miz TV was there where the WWE Champion returned. Also, there were a couple of matches to hype up the show, as well including a triple threat match. Here are the results from the show hosted by the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas.
Paige kicked off Smackdown Live to host the women’s championship contract signing for WWE TLC. A verbal confrontation broke out among Charlotte, Asuka and Becky Lynch. The champion decided to walk away from the ring after penning down her signature. Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville interrupted sooner to set up the opening contest of the night.
Rose and Deville teamed up against Charlotte Flair and Asuka in the tag match. The heel duo double-teamed against Asuka for sometimes before she came back with a snapmare. Becky Lynch joined at commentary to scout the competition. Charlotte accidentally hit Asuka with a boot and got a reply in the form of a flying kick. Sonya Deville pinned Charlotte to win the match.
Jey Uso vs. Xavier Woods vs. Cesaro was the triple threat match lineup on Smackdown. Uso and Woods double-teamed on Cesaro for a better part of the match. Cesaro countered locking in the Sharpshooter on Woods. Jey Uso connected with a superkick to break the hold. Uso shoved Woods off the ring and gave another superkick to Uso to get the win.
Daniel Bryan was the guest on Miz TV on Smackdown. He went on to clarify the fact that the old Daniel Bryan is dead. AJ Styles came out to have a confrontation with the new Daniel Bryan. Bryan intentionally pushed Miz onto Styles to create a physical altercation. Styles fought off the two men present inside the ring. But Bryan’s distraction allowed Miz to hit the Skull Crushing Finale.
Jeff Hardy competed against Randy Orton on Smackdown Live. He was in control of the match by sending Orton into the ring post. After a short resistance by Orton, Hardy hit him with a Twist of Fate. He was able to set Orton into the commentary table for a jump. But Samoa Joe appeared on the tron to provide a distraction to Hardy. Orton capitalized with an RKO to win the match.
Daniel Bryan joined the commentary table for the main event of Smackdown. AJ Styles took on against The Miz in a singles contest in this slot. The Miz hit the Skull Crushing Finale on Styles and locked in the Figure-four but the former champ hung on. He countered with the Calf Crusher to pick up the submission win. Daniel Bryan attacked the leg of AJ Styles after the match. It continued for sometimes as the show went off the air.
