WWE: Smackdown Live Full Results: July 25th, 2017

Now that WWE Smackdown is done hosting the Battleground PPV, we are clearly on our way to Summerslam. The blue brand will get only four weeks of time to make the build-up of the show and that started from last night. The championship pictures were made clear to a certain extent alongside the other storylines. Here are the full results from the show hosted by The Richmond Coliseum, Richmond, Virginia.

WWE Smackdown opened up with the new United States Champion, Kevin Owens bragging about his US title win at the Battleground. He declared that starting from next week, we will witness the US title open challenge. But, AJ Styles interrupted demanding a rematch which was obviously denied by the champion.

Meanwhile, Chris Jericho’s music hit the arena and the crowd went nuts. This man also deserved a title opportunity since he never got his US title rematch. So, the Smackdown commissioner booked a triple threat US title match among all three of them in the main event of Smackdown.

Shinsuke Nakamura got the Battleground rematch against Baron Corbin. After some back and forth going, Nakamura was able to deliver a big knee to Corbin’s back and then connect with the Kinshasa to pick up the win and a sweet revenge on his bitter rival.

The New Day was making their entrances with the newly won tag team titles around their waist. But, their celebrations got cut short by The Usos who were lurking to deliver an assault. All three of the champions were laid down by the former tag champs on the ramp.

A tag team match took place, as Tye Dillinger and Sami Zayn teamed up against Aiden English and Mike Kanellis. The babyface team picked up the win after Tye derailed English and Sami connected with The Helluva Kick to Mike and hooked his legs.

Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch teamed up to take on Tamina and Lana in Smackdown. The face team did pretty well and dumped Tamina outside the ring. The Queen then connected with a big boot to Lana for the win. Tamina looked furious with Lana over this loss, as she left the ring.

Jinder Mahal showed up on the show wanting an opponent for Summerslam. John Cena accepted the challenge and declared that he will be the one to challenge Jinder for the title. The GM, Daniel Bryan came out to announce that next week, Cena and Nakamura will lock horns with the winner getting the opportunity to face Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship.

In the main event, Styles, Jericho, and Owens squared off in a triple threat match for the US title. Owens was on the verge to win after delivering a Frog splash to Jericho but Styles came from behind and shoved him off the ring to get the pinfall, instead. He became the new United States Champion to close this week’s Smackdown.
