WWE Smackdown Live Full Results: September 17th, 2019

The post-Clash of Champions episode of SmackDown Live aired last night beginning the storylines for Hell In a Cell. A huge six-man tag team match was the main event of the night. The 2019 King of the Ring tournament winner had a celebration thrown in honor of his victory. Plus, we expected to hear from Rowan after the big victory over Roman Reigns as the show aired from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

The New Day – WWE Champion Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods competed against SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Revival, Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder in the opening contest of SmackDown Live. Orton hit the ring-draped DDT and tagged in his partners to hit the RKO Machine on Kofi. But E sent Orton to the ring post. Kofi hit the Trouble in Paradise on Dawson to pick up the win.

After the match, The New Day celebrated until Brock Lesnar’s music hits. Lesnar and Paul Heyman came to the stage for a pop. Heyman issued a challenge to Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship during the SmackDown Fox premiere on Friday, October 4th. Kofi accepted it only to digest an F-5 from the Conqueror. Lesnar picked up the WWE Title for once before leaving the ring.

An interview aired featuring Eric Rowan who addressed the attacks on Roman Reigns and how he’s on a mission to earn respect from the SmackDown locker room.

Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Ali was going to be the next matchup on SmackDown Live that never took place. Sami Zayn appeared with a mic in hand to mention how Nakamura defeated The Miz at Clash Of Champions. The heel duo delivered a sudden attack on Ali. Nakamura landed a Kinshasa on Ali before leaving the ring.

Kevin Owens appeared on SmackDown through the crowd as Shane McMahon appeared with a bunch of securities. Shane had some legal papers in hand to discuss Owens’ firing from last week. They talked about filing lawsuits against each other until Owens mentioned that he gets to come back to SmackDown if he wins the case. Owens said Shane McMahon, You’re Fired before leaving the ring.

Ric Flair was present on the show to encourage her daughter Charlotte Flair for the match against Sasha Banks. SmackDown Women’s Champion, Bayley was at ringside to have a close look at the match. Flair took out Banks and Bayley with a top rope Moonsault. She locked in the Figure-Eight on Banks when Bayley ran in to disqualify the match. The heel duo double-teamed on Flair until Carmella made the save. She delivered a Superkick on Banks whereas Flair landed a big boot on Bayley to stand tall.

Barin Corbin came out on SmackDown to celebrate his win at the King Of The Ring tournament finale. He called out Chad Gable to mock him about the short heights. The jokes continued until Gable attacked Corbin on the throne. He smashed the sceptre on the back of Corbin and destroyed other equipment kept in the ring. Gable then tore the KOTR robes before breaking the crown leaving Corbin in a teary state.

Heavy Machinery vs. The B Team was the next lineup on SmackDown Live where the duo of Axel and Dallas double-teamed on Tucker until he came back with a clothesline. Otis got the tag and rocked Dallas and Axel with a splash. He delivered the Caterpillar and followed up with The Compactor with Tucker to get the win.

Daniel Bryan appeared in the main event segment of SmackDown Live to cut a promo on how Rowan turned his back on him. He asked Rowan to come out as the big man confronted him in the ring. Harper appeared from the back and attacked Bryan. The two started double-teaming on Bryan until Roman Reigns came out and delivered a Superman Punch on Rowan and right-hand on Harper. He delivered the Drive-By on Rowan to turn into a big boot from Harper. They delivered a powerbomb on Reigns on the ring post before driving him through the barricade wall. Harper and Rowan put Bryan through the announcers’ table with a double-chokeslam to end the show.
