WWE Superstars are getting their last chances of showing how much they are worth by letting them go all en route to the much-anticipated WWE Brand Extension as the last ever taped Smackdown went on air.
Sasha Banks def. Dana Brooke
The show kicked off with a rematch between Sasha Banks and the protégé of WWE Women’s champion, Dana Brooke. The champion Charlotte was not impressed at all with Sasha’s victory on Raw and hence demanded the match. The boss walked out of the contest clearly after locking in the Bank Statement on Dana Brooke. But, a vicious two-on-one attack was waiting for her once the match got concluded.
Dolph Ziggler def. Rusev
Rusev accepted Zack Ryder’s challenge for a United States championship match in the most brutal way possible on Raw. On Smackdown he turned his attention on Dolph Ziggler. Zack Ryder was present at commentary causing the distraction for Rusev and Ziggler took full advantage to pin the champion with a roll-up and thus getting the retribution.
AJ Styles-Karl Anderson def. Enzo and Cass
Enzo and Cass took on The Club’s AJ Styles and Karl Anderson in a thrilling contest on the Final Thursday Night Smackdown. Gallows provided with the distraction to turn referee’s attention which allowed shoving Big Cass off from the ring. With Anderson ambushing Cass outside the ring, Styles locked in the Calf Crusher on Enzo to submit him.
Kalisto def. Tyler Breeze
These two took on each other with their partners present at ringside. The flying Luchagor gained the upper hand by leaping high and connecting with the Salida del Sol.
Miz TV with Darren Young and Bob Backlund
Upon his monumental victory on Raw and emerging as the new number one contender for The Miz’s Intercontinental championship, Darren Young alongside his life coach Bob Backlund appeared on The Miz TV. The Miz, as usual, went ahead to insult his opponent in his usual fashion. It reached the limit when Young got into MIz’s face and the champion decided to leave the ring.
Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens def. Dean Ambrose and Sami Zayn
The initial set up for the main event match was between Dean Ambrose and Kevin Owens. But, Seth Rollins came for commentary and decided to have a blind-sided attack on the champion. When it looked a two-on-one mugging was about to start, Sami Zayn made the save. The happenings turned the match into a tag team contest in the main event of Smackdown. Owens distracted Zayn in between the match which helped Rollins to connect with the pedigree for the win. Before Ambrose chase down Rollins after the match, both the heels escaped from the ring to end Smackdown.
