In one of the main events of WWE SummerSlam 2022, Liv Morgan retained the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Ronda Rousey. The finish of this match was controversial as the referee never saw that Ronda managed to submit Liv with her Armbar submission. Rather due to the challenger’s shoulders being on the mat, the referee began counting the pin and gave Liv a proper pin-fall win.
Ronda Rousey wasn’t happy with this move and she attacked both Liv and the referee after the match. WWE then fined and suspend him for all the rightful reasons. She then paid her fine by cash and wanted to get reinstated on the blue brand only to be denied. This led the Baddest Woman on the Planet to deliver some more attacks and get arrested by the police, two weeks ago.

Over on this week’s Smackdown, Ronda Rousey was featured in a promo segment in the ring and showed a paper from the WWE higher-ups, calling for her suspension to be lifted. WWE Official Adam Pearce read out the document and told the crowd that indeed her suspension was no more intact and that she had been allowed to resume in-ring competition.

WWE Official talked trash about Ronda Rousey on Smackdown
However, Pearce was irate about how Ronda Rousey has been acting, as of late by attacking the officials on a regular basis. He also called her a b**ch in response to which Rousey ended up slamming Pearce and catching him in an armbar. This was supposed to be a punishment from the former UFC Superstar for Pearce calling the cops on her for attempting to hijack the August 19 episode of SmackDown.
The primary belief was that Ronda Rousey will be relieved of her suspension so that she could perform at Clash at the Castle 2022, tonight. But that won’t be the case. Per Dave Meltzer in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, she wasn’t planned to make the journey to Cardiff “as of midweek”. While plans can change, as of this writing, she will not be making an appearance at Principality Stadium.
This report comes to a totally opposite update from the same source who suggested that the suspension won’t last long because Ronda Rousey was scheduled to be a part of the Clash at the Castle premium live event. In her absence, Liv Morgan will defend her Smackdown Women’s Title against Shayna Baszler.
