Following the release of WWE Diva, Summer Rae, we have seen big protests from the fans who wanted to see her back on TV, for a long time. Apart from the WWE Women’s Evolution, there are still some hardcore fans of the product who want to see some eye-candy Divas on weekly basis to enjoy the WWE programming.

Summer Rae was a perfect fit for the role. From the very beginning of her career, she has been working on valet roles.

Hence, she was paired with a number of superstars over the years and earned a name for herself. The names include Fandango, Dolph Ziggler, Rusev, Tyler Breeze etc. who benefitted by getting her beside them.

WWE hired her to use her in these kinds of roles ad she had done justice to it, successfully. So, it was quite bad to see her depart like this especially in a situation where she evolved herself to be a better performer even inside the ring.

For the past couple of years, she became a regular in-ring competitor until suffering a back injury in 2016.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted on WWE releasing the former Total Divas star from the contract. They stated that the company was no more considered to be a fit enough lady in such managerial roles. This was the main reason for her contract getting terminated.

Check out the further update on the situation (courtesy SportsKeeda.com):

“WWE had initially wanted Summer Rae to portray a much different role on television but they didn’t believe it was something she could make work. The plan in 2011 when Summer Rae came into WWE was for her to be a non-wrestler and hold down a major attraction role akin to how Stacy Keibler and Torrie Wilson were used back in the day.”

As declared by the blonde-haired Diva, she has no hard feeling towards the biggest pro-wrestling promotion of the world after being done with it.

She thanked the company for letting her the opportunity to be called a WWE Diva. This also allowed her to star in a popular show like Total Divas in a couple of seasons.
