WWE is trying hard to stack up the card for Summerslam 2021, as much as possible with the top superstars from the roster. They will also be utilizing some of the returnees for the PPV event that makes it no less than a Wrestlemania occasion. Following the return of the WWE Hall of Famer Edge, another such old-school name is likely to be back in time for the August event to get involved in the WWE Title picture.
Bobby Lashley is currently set to defend the WWE Championship against Kofi Kingston at Money In The Bank 2021 PPV. This is supposed to be a filler feud on Lashley’s road to WWE SummerSlam 2021. With his dominant run on Raw, there’s no way that Kingston is going to win. Lashley is scheduled to defeat Kingston and then move on to the next feud. It now appears an interesting opponent could be waiting for him.

According to the reports of Wrestling Observer, there are rumors of bringing back WWE Hall Of Famer Goldberg for another WWE Championship match this year. This led to the speculations that Lashley might end up facing the former WCW franchise player for the title at WWE Summerslam 2021. This comes after doubts over Brock Lesnar’s comeback to the WWE, this summer season.

Goldberg possibly setting up Summerslam 2021 match, this Monday
Moreover, Fightful now reports that Goldberg is now slated to make a return on the post MITB edition of Raw, this Monday night to confirm the match against Lashley. We will have to wait and watch to learn how things will unfold in the coming weeks.
Previously, Bobby Lashley vs. Brock Lesnar was reported to take place at Summerslam 2021, but WWE creative team still doesn’t have any plans over the Beast’s return, as per Ringside News. It is possible that WWE may just want to save that match for a future PPV main event since the main event of SummerSlam 2021 will reportedly be Roman Reigns vs. John Cena in a Universal Title Match.
This brings back Goldberg into the conversation since he still has one match left to compete under his latest WWE deal. But if he comes back for Summerslam 2021 then to face Lashley for the title, it would most likely be causing yet another loss for the WCW Legend. At the beginning of this year, Goldberg faced Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble 2021 PPV and came up short.
