WWE Hall of Famer Edge is confirmed to go toe-to-toe with Seth Rollins at WWE SummerSlam 2021 in a match. With a lot of animosity between these two Superstars, this is a dream match for the professional wrestling circuit that’s becoming a reality, later this month. The bout is also being billed as seven years in the making since the storyline actually started in 2014.
This year after defeating Cesaro at Hell In A Cell PPV in June, Seth Rollins claimed to be the new number-one contender for the Universal Championship to Roman Reigns. But instead, Edge came back on the Road to SummerSlam 2021 and got that title shot at Money in the Bank pay-per-view event. That marked the beginning of the feud between Edge and Rollins.

Following weeks of tension between the duo, last week’s SmackDown saw Rollins ambush Edge from behind and destroy him in a segment with a camera in hand. Edge then appeared on this week’s SmackDown and cut a promo addressing his adversary. Rollins never came out to the ring but he interrupted, live via satellite, as he taunted Edge from the big screen.

Edge then ended up challenging Rollins for a match at WWE SummerSlam 2021. Rollins said he would have to think it over since he’s got a lot of things going in his life, right now. The back and forth verbal trade continued and things got heated and much personal between the two. Thus, Rollins was forced to accept the challenge and thereby making this match official for the next pay-per-view event.
As The Rated R Superstar and The Architect proceed to this mega match at WWE SummerSlam 2021, we should remind that back in 2014 it was Rollins who threatened Edge to break his neck in a segment on Raw. John Cena was involved in the situation who was forced to reinstate The Authority – Triple H and Stephanie McMahon back in charge on Raw as demanded by Rollins.
